Did you ever want to be on a health foundation board? Well you now have an opportunity to apply to be considered to be on the Board of the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City. Go to the HCF web site and you can print off a board application form that when completed will be considered by The Community Advisory Committee (CAC).
According to our by-laws the only way a person can become a member of the HCF Board of Directors is by filling out this board application and being first vetted by the CAC. Those who are recommended by the CAC will have their names submitted to the HCF board for further consideration and interviews. The entire process is explained in the application papers.
Most nonprofit boards and foundations are not organized in this manner … but because we believe that board membership should be open to all qualified persons in the community, we use this process to ensure that people who are not currently known to the foundation board and associates will have a fair chance to be identified and elected to the board.
Board application packets are due by August 31st and please feel free to contact me if you have questions. We strive to have a board makeup that represents the community that we serve. We have seven board openings to fill this year so I encourage you to contact us to find out more about HCF and the duties of the board.
We appreciate your interest and support of the Health Care Foundation.
