Is there a dollar limit to how much an applicant may request?

There is no limit to the amount an applicant may request from HCF for a Foundation Defined Grant (FDG). However, there is a dollar limit attached to Applicant Defined Grant (ADG) requests: An applicant may not request more than $75,000 for an ADG.

Please consider the following when determining how much to request for your program:

  • HCF prefers that applicants do not request more than 50% of their organization’s annual budget
  • HCF prefers that applicants do not request more than 75% of a total project cost
