Through Tough Times, the HCF Family Keeps Going

In October 2004, Dr. Harry Jonas, HCF’s founding board chair, offered me the job of president/CEO of this foundation.

While I was grateful for the opportunity in 2004, I am even more honored for the opportunity to lead this foundation some nine years later. During this time, I have met many wonderful people, learned a lot and hopefully along the way, we’ve helped to improve the health conditions for the underserved within our service area and beyond.

But during my tenure here, I’m not sure I’ve ever been as proud as I am right now with our HCF family.

At the moment, three of our HCF associates are currently out on medical leave. These three amazing women all have unbelievable, positive attitudes and I’m confident that they will be back in the coming months, and better than ever.

As you can imagine, our remaining HCF associates are carrying heavier loads right now. We are very fortunate that, during this difficult and hectic time, former HCF associate and board member Sylvia Robinson has joined our team on a temporary basis.

I am blessed to work with such an excellent and dedicated group of associates that have a “can do” servant leadership attitude. While our three associates are out of the office, we remain committed to providing our funding partners and the community with the same quality and quantity of services that we have provided for the last nine years.

As most of my loyal readers already know, I recently made a difficult decision to announce my retirement from HCF.

If you are interested in joining this amazing group of associates, and are dedicated to the mission of this Foundation, I encourage you to apply for the president/CEO position. Ms. Angie Salmon of EFL Associates is leading the search and will be accepting resumes until my replacement has been named. The job description and contact information is on our website.

We ask that you send any potential candidates our way during the search for my replacement.

But most especially, during this time, I ask that you please keep our team members in your prayers.

Editor’s note: All interested applicants are encouraged to send their resume to:
