The 7th Annual Health Literacy Missouri Summit is quickly approaching!
This month Health Literacy Missouri will bring together hundreds of professionals all looking to build their literacy skills, take part in discussions and panels, and learn from the most championed in the industry. If you have ever been interested in attending a gathering of like-minded professionals, looking to share and come up with new ideas, then this is the perfect opportunity.
Among the keynote speakers will be Terry C. Davis, PhD, a pioneer in the field of health literacy and a professor, teacher and researcher at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport (LSUHSC-S). Dr. Davis has led an interdisciplinary team investigating the impact of patient literacy on health and health care for the past 35 years. Her seminal achievements include developing the Rapid Estimate of Adult Literacy in Medicine (REALM) and creating user-friendly patient education and provider training materials in use nationally.
Additionally, the event will feature panels exploring these topics:
- Communicating risk
- Community health workers
- Behavioral health care
The Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City has provided a grant for scholarships to offer professional scholarships to this event, a $99 value, for partners and grantees of the foundation.
The scholarships will be given on a first come, first served basis. Those wanting a ticket to the summit through this scholarship are asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org. The scholarship allows an individual one ticket to the summit on October 21st until spaces are full.
