Ensure access at Kansas City Public School (KCPS) buildings to asthma-rescue medications for any student experiencing a life-threatening asthma attack (House Bill 1188), and train school nurses to deliver self-care asthma education for children and families;
Assist with training and credentialing asthma educators for preventive asthma services;
Support monthly health home touches for high-risk children with asthma at Missouri Primary Care Health Homes in Kansas City at KCPS area schools, YMCA, churches, homes, and other community sites;
Support asthma learning collaboratives for trained local health care providers, school nurses and community workers (IMPACT Asthma Extension for Community Health Outcomes – ECHO®);
Support KCPS schools as a potential originating site for telemedicine (Senate Bill 579).
