There are few words to describe someone as important to the Health Care Foundation as Tracy Skidgel. She was the first employee of HCF, and in many ways, helped to shape the way we do business.
At the beginning, we had no available money, and Tracy had to use her credit card to pay the expenses of the Foundation. She and Dr. Jonas (pictured above) shared an office that was so tiny they could not both open desk drawers at the same time.
Little did Tracy know that when she took this job, it would grow to be a labor of such love. She proved everyday what dedication to a mission can mean. Not everyone outside of the Foundation knew her, but they felt her effects — every time a grantee received a grant check, every time a meeting was posted, every excellent audit, every time someone referred to the minutes, every time someone wanted to know any important piece of information — she was behind it all.
We offer her a debt of gratitude for the incredible diligence, dedication, fidelity and mostly love she brought to her job every day. Tracy, we will miss you very much but know that retirement will be filled with your precious grandsons and family. We will proudly carry the mark you have left on the Foundation.
