HCF Seeking Applications for Board of Directors
The Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City is currently accepting applications from individuals to fill seven upcoming vacancies on the HCF Board of Directors in February 2012. Members of the HCF Board of Directors serve a three-year term and can be re-nominated for a second three-year term. Applications are due on August 31. Qualifications/Nomination Packet.
Safety Net RFP Upcoming Deadlines
Letters of Intent for HCF's 2011 Safety Net Health Care funding are due at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Full proposals are due by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Online application.
Kansas Foundations Establish Fund to Prepare State for Implementation of Health Reform Law
Five health philanthropies that fund health programs and initiatives in the state of Kansas this week announced the formation of a $450,000 fund to help Kansas organizations carry out activities that support implementation of the federal health reform law. The Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, the Kansas Health Foundation, the REACH Healthcare Foundation, the Sunflower Foundation and the United Methodist Health Ministry Fund established the fund to assist state agencies and nonprofit organizations with planning, research, consumer engagement and other activities related to implementation of the Affordable Care Act. HCF to Offer Introductory Capitol Workshops
The Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City is pleased to partner with the Missouri Foundation for Health to offer Introductory Capitol Workshops. These 1.5 day workshops in Jefferson City will provide current grantees who are based in Missouri the opportunity to learn about the policy-making process and how to engage with legislators. HCF President/CEO Named to Missouri Mental Health Commission
Governor Jay Nixon has appointed HCF President/CEO Steve Roling to the Mental Health Commission. The commission appoints the director of the Missouri Department of Mental Health and assists the director in establishing, maintaining and reviewing plans, practices, rules and regulations, facilities, programs and services operated, funded or licensed by the Department.
