In order to understand the challenges and successes related to oral health in Greater Kansas City and identify how the entire health and health care community can more effectively address local oral health needs, HCF undertook a comprehensive assessment of the oral health system in Greater Kansas City and hired Health Resources in Action (HRiA), a non-profit public health organization, to lead the assessment study. This report provides an overview of the key findings of the assessment, which explores a range of social and economic issues, health behaviors and outcomes, oral health access issues, and available resources related to oral health prevention and treatment services and concludes with evidence-informed recommendations tailored to the context and needs of Greater Kansas City.
